Planning & Design:
Place Making
The outcome of good Community Design is PLACE MAKING.
We embrace this concept because it captures the intangible, aesthetic,
essential aspects of what we do: making places that are unique
and memorable.

TSW works at all scales, from the Building to the Region, and in
settings ranging from Rural to Urban. We make it our job to find
the appropriate design repsonse for each project context, whether
it is a conservation subdivision or town center.
Communicating
We listen to our clients — their aspirations become the program
from which we work. We are adept at communicating with the many other
collaborators in the development process to achieve consensus on
what is to be done.

We Like To Draw
In addition to computer graphics, we believe in the
power of hand-drawn illustrations and images. Our ability to communicate
through drawings engages people, facilitates consensus, and creates
excitement about design solutions.
Envisioning
We excel at transforming our clients' aspirations into coherent
visions for the future around which consensus can be based.
Implementing
We identify the processes and strategies, and create the policies
and regulations, which are needed to implement complex projects,
including public, private and non-profit partnerships.
Our implementation work includes:
- Implementation Strategy Documents
- Illustrative Design Guidelines
- Funding and Grants
- Historic and Environmental Protection Strategies
- Public Policy Documents
- Codes and Ordinances
