Piedmont Park's North Woods Begins to Take Shape
November 2009
Rebekah Calvert recently went on a tour of the construction site for Piedmont Park’s North Woods expansion. Chris Nelson, Piedmont Park Conservancy’s Executive Vice President and COO, led the tour and provided insight about the North Woods’s future and sustainable initiatives. With a budget of $43 million, phase one renovations include plans to renovate 41 acres of land north of Park Drive Bridge and extending to Piedmont Avenue near the Ansley Mall area.
Tunnell-Spangler-Walsh & Associates completed the Master Plan for the North Woods in 2004 through an extensive process of community workshops, recommendations, and implementation strategies.
