TSW Announces New Associates & Director of Landscape Architecture

Tunnell-Spangler-Walsh & Associates is pleased to announce that
the following people have been named Associates of the firm: Laura
Kraul, Caleb Racicot and Ron Wootton.
Paul Brickey has been named a TSW principal and Director
of Landscape Architecture.

Paul
Brickey joined TSW in 2003, after eight years serving as Vice-President
with the HOK Planning Group. Paul is an experienced Senior Planner,
Designer and Manager with an extensive background in site planning
and design, urban design, and parks and recreation planning and
design. He will direct landscape project management, planning and
design as well as quality control of bid documents. A graduate
of the University of Georgia, Paul has taught at three state universities,
the University of Arkansas, Mississippi State University and the
University of Georgia. Paul’s work has won many awards over
the years, including a 2002 ASLA Merit Award (Historic Winder Downtown
Redevelopment), a 2002 Honor Award (Historic Gainesville Downtown
Streetscape Redevelopment) and a 2001 Urban Design Award (Piedmont
Park Oak Hill Restoration).
Laura Kraul, Associate
Since
joining TSW in September of 2002, Laura has contributed to several
projects involving downtown master planning, park design, college
master planning, urban greenspace planning, and zoning and code
ordinances. She has participated in numerous public meetings and
workshops for the municipal master planning projects. Prior to
obtaining her MLA at the University of Georgia, Laura was employed
in a variety of marketing and management positions during thirteen
years with Motorola, Inc. Her wide experience base in strategic
plan development, customer contact, research, product design and
promotion has been a valuable asset to TSW. Her current project
work includes: Columbus MidTown Project Study, Piedmont Park North
Woods Master Plan, Decatur Preservation Corridor Master Plan, Kennesaw
State University Master Plan and several landscape design for the
KSU campus.
Caleb Racicot, Associate
Caleb
is a community planner specializing in urban design, smart growth
codes, community retail strategies, and the use of corridor studies
as catalysts for community building. Caleb has worked in both the
public and private sector and is an effective consensus builder.
Prior to joining TSW in 2001, he practiced planning in Atlanta
with the City of Atlanta Bureau of Planning. While with the City,
Caleb worked on a variety of projects including urban design studies,
zoning initiatives, land use plans, community facilitation, and
Geographic Information Systems. He holds a Master of City and Regional
Planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Caleb’s
current projects include: Avondale Estates Downtown Zoning Code,
Buford Town Center LCI Study, Central Martinez Area Study, Delk
TOD LCI Study, Ponce/Moreland Corridor Study, and the Woodstock
Downtown Zoning Code.
Ron Wootton, Associate
Ron,
who formerly worked with Surber Barber Choate & Hertlein Architects,
John Portman & Associates and offices in Los Angeles and San
Francisco, is an architect with over 30 years of experience in
varied use types including hotels, office buildings, multifamily
housing, retail, restaurants and country clubs. Ron holds a Bachelor
of Architecture from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State
University. He is currently project manager for Cosmopolitan on
Lindbergh, a 400-unit housing project consisting of condominiums,
apartments and town homes on a compact urban site in Buckhead.
