Cornerstone on the Square Receives Atlanta Regional Commission Award

December 2009

At the Atlanta Regional Commission’s annual State of the Region Breakfast, Cornerstone on the Square received the LCI Achievement Award as part of the Developments of Excellence program.

Located on previously abandoned bank site in downtown Lawrenceville, Cornerstone on the Square houses 33 townhomes and condominiums above 9,000 square feet of retail space. By putting residents within walking distance of government services, entertainment, dining, and shopping, this 1.75-acre community truly captures the spirit of the LCI program. A key component of Lawrenceville’s Downtown Master Plan, Cornerstone on the Square creates more than 800 linear feet of tight-to-the-sidewalk, brick buildings that mesh with the existing façade. It also offers four courtyard homes in the project’s interior, an area often neglected in townhome communities.

Other winners included Suwanee Town Center, Shadowbrook, Renaissance Walk at Sweet Auburn, and The Ellis on Peachtree. For more on ARC’s Developments of Excellence, see http://www.atlantaregional.com/html/2248.aspx.
