Piedmont Park's Active Oval Reopened

November 2006

Piedmont Park Conservancy launched the official reopening of the Historic Active Oval and Ball Fields in Piedmont Park November 8th with a ribbon breaking ceremony attended by Mayor Shirley Franklin, local dignitaries, and TSW staff.

The fields opened after a two-year, $1.8 million restoration project that was led by Paul Brickey and Ryan Jenkins of TSW and included adding two softball fields, two soccer fields, regulation-size sand volleyball courts, a running track, new drinking fountains, benches and a shade pergola for viewing the games.
