Christopher Leerssen
cleerssen@tunspan.com

Because of Christopher’s varied background he brings to TSW a strong understanding of urbanism and its many facets. He has over six years of professional architectural experience, in both the public and private sector, with a focus on urban design and two additional years of construction experience.

After graduating from Georgia Tech in architecture (for the second time), he was a researcher at Georgia Tech's SMARTRAQ, Strategies for Metropolitan Atlanta’s Regional Transportation and Air Quality, modeling alternative implications for Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) communities using detailed land use and travel behavior. Christopher then put his regional knowledge and experience into designing corridors, town centers and master plans for TSW’s planning studio. Recently, he has made the switch back into typical "stick-n-bricks" vertical architecture designing and managing infill & urban mixed-use developments and residential projects around the south east. His experiences in research, planning, and architecture provide a backdrop by which he helps TSW conceive of livable, beautiful places.

Christopher was the College of Architecture's SGF Prize Winner in 2001 for his Master’s Thesis on the transformation of a suburban strip mall.
